Departing from York, the group (Donni, Norley, Cenn, Shotari, Lu, and Penelope) headed north along the river road towards Astai, up into the hills of Nordholm. Except for an attack by a tiger on the first day, the week-long journey was uneventful, with rain near the end of the month. Both Cenn and Shotari claimed to notice some oddness about the natural world ...

Deep in the woods, the group found the hut of the wizard Kedro GauUs, who proved to be somewhat eccentric. Receiving the enchanted weapons, he told the group to come back in two days; and provided magical box lunches.

Since the Herahn shrine of Lachrone was nearby, they pressed on, and found the shrine before the end of the day. The trunk of the sacred oak was enshrouded with unpleasant-seeming black ivy; and the nearby hut (which was presumed to be that of the shrine's caretaker) was inhabited by someone (or thing) who refused to open the door.

It's Tober 1st Earthday, two days after the fall equinox.
