Unit Organization

Hand

Consists of five warriors; the 'Hand Leader' carries a small tin whistle.

Section

Consists of 2 to 4 Hands (thus 10 to 20 warriors); the 'Section Leader' carries a copper pitch pipe.

Banner

Consists of 3 to 4 Sections (thus 30 to 80 warriors); the 'Banner Leader' carries a silver bugle.

Company

Consists of 3 to 4 Banners (thus 90 to 320 warriors); the 'Company Commander' carries a gold flute.

Legion

Consists of 3 to 4 Companies (thus usually 800 to 1,200 warriors); the 'Legion Commander' has a band. Legions are of various types (light infantry, heavy cavalry, etc.); a few hundred support personnel round out each legion, to provide cooks, surgeons, bandsmen, grooms, etc..
