I've Got An Owie

Page history last edited by PBworks 16 years, 11 months ago
It seems like you've just settled into the best bedroom at the house of the HeadMan of the Hamlet of Eckston (the place near the Fishhouse), one Mauricio Makedon, mid 50's, HillMal, Landsfolk caste tenant-farmer and his wife, Celia (early 40's HillFem), when you find yourselves awoken, gently, by Celia.
"Domma, Ser, the Duke's Men are here"
It is in fact about noon, a little over 4 hours since you arrived. The Duke's Men first appears to be a young TyrFem of Gold & Jet, in good quality jointed black plate armor (sans helm), wearing the Duke's livery.
She gives a graceful and powerful full Martial Caste bow (involves bending at the waist while stepping back with one leg, sitting on your back heel, and bowing forward).
"Domma, Chandra, Ser Konrad, Her Grace sent us at the request of Dane MacRoberts. My troopies are keeping watch in the area. This is Serjeant Edris (mid 40's HilMal, brown & hazel, has a vandyke well trimmed), I am Shelby Tiff. How may we be of service to you?
"Saerjent, please take a look at that arm ... oh, both those arms." <pause while an experienced Serjeant Fedris looks over your wounds>
The door opens and another heavily armored HillMal comes in to report, "The area appears secure, at least within the ramparts. With your permission, I'll return to watch. Unless you want us to do a house to house search?"
The Dane shakes her head and he departs smartly.
Serjeant Edris asks, "Domma, I could Heal this, eh? And, looks like I could stick on that missing bit, eh, Dark Wallah? <the last addressed to Konrad> - Ken

"Dane Shelby, I think the best thing would be for us to return to the  fist as soon as it is convenient for you.  I can't think of anything  we need to do here, except of course thank HeadMan Mauricio and Celia for their hospitality and care."  (BTW  Chandra's thanks will include a Lady for their troubles.)
"Serjeant  -- I would be most grateful if you could heal my arm." - Leslie for Chandra

"Oh, a-sure, if-a you please, domma Tiff, it's-a still stinging a bit. The, eh, rest is in the armored sleeve over there."
Uh, we *did* bring the missing bits out of the burning building? - Michael for Konrad

Actually, being jointed plate armor, and seeing how the strike wasn't quite powerful enough to go through both sides of the armor (not to mention the arm) with any to spare, I'm assuming that the armor is still attached (damaged though).
So, between them, Dane Tiff and the Serjeant will heal you both up to full.
Dane Tiff: "Domma, Ser, do you have any idea where the Ninja got off to? Are the bodies of Dom Springer and his team still in the Fishhouse?"

Mauricio: "Doma, your grace our poor house with your presence, and your generosity is overwhelming." He seems sincere, especially since the Lady is worth 15-20 days of unskilled knuckledragger wages and may be the most valuable coin they have in the house ;-)  -- Ken

"Uh, I'm-a not sure what happened after the fight, I was-a kinda stunned." -- Michael for Konrad

All of the limbs seem to function to the limits of your respective observational abilities -- though Konrad's arm seems a tad tinglier than he remembers...
Domma Tiff has the Serjeant round up two of the teams' horses for the pair of you, and the three of you ride for the Fist. If you want to ride hard and fast, Riding rolls would be appropriate.
After a bit, you will meet a very large armed group, flying the Eastmarch banner, coming the other way on the road. The leader of that Banner will speak tersely to the Serjeant, and the two groups will continue on your sepeate ways -- you towards the Fist, and the Bannerman and Banner towards the area around the Fishhouse.
When you reach the area around the Fist, there are more patrols about, mostly on horseback, but even some groups of light infantry roaming the countryside, as well as heavy infantry and 'goonz' at several checkpoints. Your Serjeant has the countersigns to get you through the checkpoints without trouble ... -- Ken

Well -- I don't really want to ride hard and fast (especially since I blew my riding roll, 83 out of 65), but we need to get back before all hell breaks loose.

When we get to the fist, Chandra will say " Dane Tiff,  thank you for your care and escort back.  Konrad and I both appreciate it." -- Leslie for Chandra

Konrad will nod in an appreciative-but-underling way, to support Chandra's thanks to the escort. (I made a fine Riding skill roll, 12, but gotta keep back with Chandra; and besides, we're both dead tired!) -- Michael for Konrad
