The Terrans (Burns, McClellan, Black, O'Reilly and Macdougall) had defeated Queen Ming in her attempt to flee with a fragment of Hell. In about five hours, the mercator Crescent Moon would arrive at Mars orbit, carrying the Tyrant of Rome and an Anvil platoon to take possession of the Tyrant's new territories.

Near Deimos (within 50,000 kilometers) were a Merchant League orbital station, a Darikahn Empire gunship (the ISS Grievous Harm, of the Severe Injury class), the yacht Dark Legacy (hired by Queen Ming), the yacht Ibex (hired by the Republic of Rome), and four Hammer Fighters (the Roman Republican Navy, piloted by the Chan sisters). Oh, and lots of orbital debris.

As far as the Terrans know, the Thunder King and Ice Queen can now shut down the Four Pagodas by working together. They may need a little TLC to avoid snappishness and accusations of patricide, etc. but that's all possible. Once the Pagodas are shut down, Hell will be finally, entirely gone, and no more Portals will open. Currently existing Portals may close immediately, or perhaps "in due course" ... it's not clear if Junctures will remain aligned after Hell is gone.

And of course, there's still the question, "Where is Tian (Chinese Heaven)?" However, in Chinese mythology, the Three Realms are Heaven, Earth and Humanity.
