Minor Wierd (Conjuration/Summoning)

  • Duration: up to 24 hours
  • Range: appears adjacent
  • Subjects: one
  • Damage: n/a
  • Casting Time: 1 minute
  • Save:  Wards
  • Casting Modifier: -1 (includes spell level 1)
  • This spell summons a spiritling and allows the witch to compel it to retrieve any small object or item that rightfully belongs to the caster. A Wierded spiritling will attempt to recover any item that was lost, stolen, dropped, or even thrown; however, it will not retrieve any item that was sold or freely given away. Once the service has been rendered, the spiritling will return to its home (unless the summoning is made permanent with an Enchantment). This spiritling can carry 25 pounds and scuttle or fly at about 5 miles per hour. Note that spriritlings are considered friendly to Witches, no protective measures are needed while summoning, and the creature will freely offer to perform a service.

Witch Glass (Divination/Scrying)

  • Duration: 2 minutes
  • Range: 1 mile per spell level (or through a Binding)
  • Subjects: n/a
  • Damage: n/a
  • Save:  Wards or Conceal
  • Casting Modifier: +1 (includes Witchcraft order modifier)
  • This spell allows the witch to temporarily turn any reflective surface (such as a mirror, crystal ball, or still surface of water) into a scrying device. By staring into the Witch Glass, the caster can view any target of choice, including a person, object or location. The target must be known to the witch for the spell to function. Remember that Illusion spells can be cast through a Witch Glass.

Changeling (Illusion)

  • Duration: 2 minutes
  • Range: up to 50 feet (or through a Binding)
  • Subjects: one
  • Damage: n/a
  • Save:  d20 + (2*PER) - spell level 10
  • Casting Modifier: -11 (includes spell level 10)
  • By means of this spell the witch is able to alter the appearance of any individual to match that of any other humanoid-sized person ("Sense" [sound], "Motion" and "Complex Elements" included).

Curse of the Beast (Transmutation)

  • Duration: 26 days
  • Range: touch (or through a Binding)
  • Subjects: one
  • Damage: n/a
  • Save:  Evade or Parry
  • Casting Modifier: -24 (includes spell level 19 and Witchcraft order modifier)
  • This dread curse turns the target into an animal - an animal which the witch possesses some or all of when casting the spell. Over a period of 19 days, the target gradually transforms into the chosen creature (of up to Ability Level 4), and then remains in that form for 7 days. On the 26th day, the target instant reverts to its normal form.

Eldritch Vapors (Transmutation)

  • Duration: 3 minutes
  • Range: self only
  • Subjects: one
  • Damage: n/a
  • Save:  n/a
  • Casting Modifier: -20 (includes spell level 20 and Witchcraft order modifier)
  • By inhaling vapors, smoke or fog, the witch transforms into a magical gas. In this form they can seep through any crack, no matter how small, and move in any direction at 50 feet per round. Total change.

Mending (Transmutation)

  • Duration: instant
  • Range: touch (or through a Binding)
  • Subjects: one
  • Damage: n/a
  • Save:  Evade or Parry
  • Casting Modifier: -8 (includes spell level 10 and Witchcraft order modifier)
  • This spell allows the witch to heal 10 points of damage taken by an inanimate object -- the object will seem to shiver and haze over when the spell takes effect.

Sympathetic Magic (Transmutation)

  • Duration: instant
  • Range: touch (or through a Binding)
  • Subjects: one
  • Damage: 9
  • Save:  Evade or Parry
  • Casting Modifier: -7 (includes spell level 9 and Witchcraft order modifier)
  • This spell allows the witch to do harm to another creature or individual by harming an object that symbolizes the intended victim. A crude doll or fetish object made from a piece of the target's hair or clothing will suffice to effect the magic (per the usual witchcraft practice of "Binding"). The nature of the damage done to the victim (fire, strangulation, stabbing, etc.) is determined by the type of damage done to the fetish object.

Bewitch (Ward/Hex)

  • Duration: 5 minutes
  • Range: touch (or through a Binding)
  • Subjects: one
  • Damage: 1 per 3 spell levels (or, -1 penalty to rolls per each spell level)
  • Save:  Evade or Parry
  • Casting Modifier: -2 (includes Witchcraft order modifier)
  • This set of similar spells makes the victim more vulnerable to a particular threat or malady. For example, a witch could make someone more susceptible to broken bones. This would cause the victim to suffer more serious injury in a fall or accident and make such an accident more likely to occur. In game terms, the target takes extra damage (or penalties to their rolls) from whatever threat or malady they have been Bewitched with. Common examples of threats include Subdual Attacks, Falling, Drowning, Burning, Fist Attacks, Hafted Weapons, Grappling Attacks, Transform Spells, Influence Spells, or (the most popular use) Dhuna witches.
