The Septenarial Concordance
Canonical Background
House Background
The Septenarial Concordance is a time when reality itself becomes palpably softer and malleable, even to those with no formal training in the magical arts. Characters succeeding on a check vs their Magic Rating will sense this as a glimpse of movement just past their field of view, faint whispers and footsteps, a rising of the hairs on the back of the neck, and other transient and unverifiable phenomena.
Game Mechanics
All spell casting during the Concordance enjoys a +2 modifier. Summoning and Conjuration spells enjoy a +5 modifier, but a die roll of 13 is an automatic Mishap. The results table is
- 20+ Critical Success (perhaps wildly so)
- 11-19 Normal Success
- 6-10 Partial Success
- 1-5 Failure
- <= 0 Mishap
Results are highly influenced by the weakness of the barriers between worlds.
