narrative description

Raised on a cattle farm in Texas. Served in the 4th Battalion of the 6th Infantry Regiment, from 1980 to 1982, and then went to college at the University of Texas, San Antonio -- graduating in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. While in the Army, he reached the rank of sergeant, and served as track commander (MOS 11C mortarman) for an M125 mortar carrier, as part of a rifle company in the Berlin Brigade.

He had some notion of working for NASA, but when informed of the coming Atomic War, he knew immediately the Morrow Project was more important.

Before joining the Project, he was a smoker. He likes beer, country and western music, two-step, promenade and line dancing, and playing poker.
