These are of course very general costs; transportation expenses, seasonal variations, supply and demand will all affect these. Also, almost no store will carry even a fraction of this list.
Availability: for an ordinary walk-in customer, not known to the seller nor part of their organization, this is the chance of at least one item being available: roll POW x availability on 1d100. Of course, some locations will have better availability, and having good contacts will also help.

steam engine for towing farm machines or trailers. 7.7 meters long, 3 meters wide, weight 20 tons including a 1900 water tank and 550 kg of fuel. Can burn coal, wood chips, charcoal, straw, etc.; or liquid fuel with some conversion time. 110 HP, with power steering, two forward and one reverse speed. It's fitted with a kerosene headlamp, a whistle and bell, and a water pump with a 15 meter hose for refilling the tank. Top speed is 10 kph. It can pull up to four 20 ton trailers up a 13% grade, or 100 tons on a smooth level road. 200 kg of coal is burned, and 1800 liters of water evaporated, per hour at full power. Steam can be raised from "cold" in about 40 minutes. |
