This represents a section of the upper floors of a first-class hotel built before 1924 in a major European city. The bedrooms below the corridor can be taken as a suite of connected bedrooms and sitting rooms; each bedroom has one or two beds normally, single or double.

The rooms above the corridor are for maids, valets, or governesses. They look out over the central courtyard (which probably has a glass roof over it), and have their own stairs and elevator (along the "servants' passage" on the left.

The "areas" between the main baths have skylights at the roof level, and run down into the basement.

The corridor has a marble floor, with a carpet down the middle. The en suite bedrooms and sitting rooms have Persian carpets; the bathrooms, water closets, and servants' rooms have linoleum floors.

The red grid represents 6' squares.
