When JR is carrying up to 21 kg, he's Unencumbered:

  • Move action in combat:   24 meters per round

    • on roads or footpaths:  60 kilometers per day

    • cross-country:  24 kilometers per day

When JR is carrying 22 to 42 kg, he is Loaded:

  • Move action in combat is 18 meters per round

    • on roads or footpaths:  48 kilometers per day

    • cross-country:  19 kilometers per day

  • reduce STR to 11 for opposed tests

When JR is carrying 43 to 84 kg he is Burdened:

  • many skills are halved:  Dodge, Climb, Jump, Sneak, Throw, all melee attacks, all parries, and others as the referee declares

  • some skills may not be possible:  Swim without flotation aids, for example

  • Move action in combat is 12 meters per round

    • on roads or footpaths:  36 kilometers per day

    • cross-country:  14 kilometers per day

  • reduce STR to 7 for opposed tests

When JR is carrying more than 84 kg he is Overloaded:

  • many skills are halved:  Martial Arts, Sneak, Throw, all attacks and parries, and others as the referee declares

  • many skills are not possible:   Swim, Climb, Jump, Dodge, and others as the referee declares

  • Move action in combat is not more than 3 meters per round

    • on roads or footpaths:  12 kilometers per day

    • cross-country:  5 kilometers per day

Looks good, Kevin! One minor edit: remove the word "molle", that stuff wasn't around in the 80s (invented 1997, rarely seen before 2001). Plenty of 10-14 round belt pouches existed, of course (the U.S. military had the M56 twelve round pouch).

Thanks for the recommendation! I just ordered a cheap used copy through Amazon. Looks amusing

Keep in mind: if a particular book is only a quarter-inch or maybe a half-inch too wide ... you can bandsaw it down a bit. Sure, a bibliophilic crime ... but the book might now fit in your personal effects box.

Kevin, you might also be interested in "Lee's Priceless Formulas" which is another late 1800s compendium of ways to make things and poison yourself.
