Writings of Unspeakable Knowledge

back to the Castle Falkenstein Index, or to the list of Lorebooks

These texts were composed (or more likely transcribed) circa 1620 by Jean LeRouen the Black, a powerful Templar sorcerer. The complete set covers more subjects, but the only ones currently known to exist are the Scrolls of Dimensional Movement, in the exclusive possession of the Illuminated Brotherhood. The lore within that work is as follows:

Portal to Other Lands (6

The Definitions required are Duration, Range (but only to places on the Earth, and not to another dimension or time), Number of Subjects or Area, Type of Subjects (which limits who can travel), and Familiarity of Subjects (in this case, the location to which the portal leads). Elements of Complexity, Conditional and Gradual are optional; Damage is not allowed.

Portal to the Faerie Realms (8

The Definitions required are Duration, Range (but must be to the Faerie Realm dimension, and not to another time), Number of Subjects or Area, Type of Subjects (which limits who can travel), and Familiarity of Subjects (in this case, the location to which the portal leads). Elements of Complexity, Conditional and Gradual are optional; Damage is not allowed.

Portal to Other Dimensions (10

The Definitions required are Duration, Range (which must be to another dimension, and not to another time), Number of Subjects or Area, Type of Subjects (which limits who can travel), and Familiarity of Subjects (in this case, the location to which the portal leads). Elements of Complexity, Conditional and Gradual are optional; Damage is not allowed.

Astral Projection (4

This lore allows the sorcerer to project their own consciousness (but not their physical body) into any place on the same world as their physical body. The Definitions required are Duration, Range (which must be to a place on the same world or dimension as their physical body, and not to another time) and Familiarity of Subjects (in this case, the location where their consciousness is being projected). Elements of Complexity, Conditional and Gradual are optional; Damage is not allowed.
