Ranger School

Not an occupation, but we'll put some notes here. Ranger School after the Vietnam War is mostly about Military Science, as far as skills taught -- character and physical status are also tested, but not really taught. A character successfully completing Ranger school will have (at that time) a CON of at least 10. For pre-Atomic War attendees, the phases are Darby, Florida, Mountain, and Desert (from 1983), with a total of about 2 months training. Ranger School was mandatory for Regular Army officers from 1966 to 1972; most people who attend Ranger School have already completed Airborne School. Most people who attend Ranger School do NOT enter the Ranger battalions.

Graduating from Ranger School is a good reason to have Military Science at 20%, and at least 5% in Teach.

There were no Ranger units between the Korean War and the Vietnam War, though Ranger School existed, mostly as a voluntary affair for officers. The various Long Range Patrol units in Vietnam were organized into the 75th Infantry Regiment (Ranger) during the Vietnam War.
