Over the years, the Project changed the equipment issued to members; in some cases, the changes occurred after teams were frozen. Items became unavailable to the Project, or were replaced due to perceived flaws, or because an improved item was obtained; or even due to someone not realizing the difference.
The basic load for a team member includes clothing, personal gear, weapons, and field equipment. Recon and Science Team members must be at least STR 8; MARS Team members must be at least STR 14. The standard issue equipment did not change much after the mid-Seventies, before almost any teams were frozen; field gear and survival gear comes to 23.2 kg. The Project tries not to issue equipment which will exceed a team member's Loaded encumbrance value, but for characters below STR 13 there's sometimes no choice. This table shows how much heavy a role kit can be for the person to remain in the Loaded encumbrance range, and what kits meet that restriction:

Note that RTOs, doctors and medical assistants get the expected kit, no matter what their STR. Left-handed people will not be issued kit #10 (the shotgun is just not suitable for left-handed use), and kits #4 and #18 are kinda awkward for lefties. A Recon or Science team won't have more than one each of the anti-tank, flame, support gunner, or marksman kits; and the Project won't issue kit #3 to anyone without a Rifle skill of at least 40%. A Recon or MARS team won't have more than one medic/doctor or med assistant kits; and in fact Recon teams rarely have med assistants at all. Most of the kits below have been altered from the Morrow Project TM 1-1 book. "All" refers to equipment available for issue from 1979 onwards. The kit for a particular role is summarized below:

Note that most Project vehicles (certainly all the V-150 variants) come equipped with an M21 sniper rifle with accessories, a MAG-58 machine gun, a set of demolitions gear, and some Armbrust 300 rocket launchers.
The players can roll dice, decide among themselves, or be assigned kits by the referee.
