Cartel Weapon Prices

Page history last edited by Michael 6 years, 3 months ago

back to the Index or to the Cartel Price Lists

These are of course very general costs; transportation expenses, seasonal variations, supply and demand will all affect these. Specifically, these are the prices found in Cartel stores. Also, almost no store will carry even a fraction of this list.

Availability:  for an ordinary walk-in customer, not known to the seller nor part of their organization, this is the chance as a POWxN%, of at least one item being available. Of course, some locations will have better availability, and having good contacts will also help. Note that Legion rifles and the ammunition for them is never sold by the Foundation, and the Cartel won't anger the Foundation by selling them in their stores (at least, not in their stores where the Legion has a post).

Cartel Rifle

.41 Cartel caliber. A recoil-operated semi-auto rifle, originally built to employ black powder. Some are built for full-auto fire, and equipped with a bipod. Magazines are mostly poorly-made copies of BAR mags, hold 20 rounds, and cost $4 each. Ammo is made from cut-down 7.62mm NATO cases, so technically 10.4x40mm. It's between .44 Magnum and .444 Marlin in power (depending on powder used, of course).

  • thus an M16 with 7 loaded 30-round magazines is worth about $300 (the gun) + $105 (the magazines) + $420 (the ammunition) = $825

  • black powder, per lb., $1.50

  • the 40mm black powder shell uses old nylon training rounds, .38 caliber blanks, and a simple black powder "bomb" projectile weighing 8 ounces or less. The "bomb" has a fuse of 3 to 9 seconds duration; the projectile normally lands in 2 or 3 seconds, though. Point-detonating rounds are rare and unreliable. Maximum range of these shells is about 200 meters.
