A pacifist cult, they worship the Fallen God, and undertake missionary work. They believe in love, peace, democracy, human rights, tolerance and equality. Their symbol resembles the infinity mark used on Morrow Project insignia.
Origin
Pre-War
Nobody in particular.
Post-War
The Movement began about 2080; it was founded by the Fallen God, named Tom Rogers. He healed the sick, performed a few other miracles, and left after fifteen years (~2095).
What Outsiders Know
Seen in trading towns begging for alms, and preaching the word of the Fallen God. They will usually have a communal business in a town -- weaving, baking, or other such simple crafts. While pacifists, the more competent members of the Movement know how to defend themselves with their fists or staffs.
The Fallen God came to Earth about two generations ago, and started the Movement. His teachings liberated us from anger, fear, and ignorance. He left the Earth after a while, but we expect his return, with more of his fellow Gods.
The Reality
The more aware members of the Movement feel that Tom Rogers, Fallen God or not, isn't the focus of the organization. His godhood, or not, shouldn't affect the truth of his teachings. He came from Kingman to the Holy City of Light, where he began his work.
Population
Many members are old, weak, or ill persons, and orphaned boys.
The Movement tries to preserve the sayings of Tom Rogers, and is thus one of the few groups to teach and use Ancient. Otherwise, most members know Unislang or Roadtalk as their native tongue.
In addition, basic martial arts instruction is provided, called Combatives by the Movement. The basic rules are:
-
If you can, run. One version of this lesson is, "Di di out of there."
-
Don't start anything.
-
Your object is to escape, not kill.
Combatives doesn't actually provide a Martial Art skill to characters.
The Movement is a good source of instruction for Unarmed Combat and Club.
Territory and Locations
Found in the various trading towns of the West: Styx, Las Vegas, Barter Town, the Holy City of Light, etc.
Organization
Not much. Each group practices consensus-heavy democracy, which means decision-making is slow.
Equipment and Resources
Its members are personally devoted to poverty; the Movement will own shops, ovens, looms, and other communal needs.
Vehicles
None.
Aircraft
None.
