This wooden boat is typical of small pilot boats, picket boats and harbor patrol craft; the police department of a port city might have these, as well.

Length 40' 2", beam 10' 10", draft 2' 6". Displacement is about 7 tons.

Propulsion is by two straight-8 gasoline engines, 100 HP each, driving two propellers. Top speed 23 knots, fuel capacity 120 gallons, range 335 nautical miles

There are three bunks, a head, and a very small galley; this vessel isn't meant for long voyages. A couple of pedestal-mounted machine guns might be carried, along with a short-range radio.
