These are generally known as SVM -- shagajushii voennyh mashin, or "walking military machines"; The designer is S. Nakovalny.

Na-12 Kolossus

The most common small Soviet walker. Mass 1.5 tons, 2.2 meters tall. Besides various command and radio variants (which don't have weapons mounted), the usual version mounts various weapon pods -- one left arm, one right arm. Armor 8mm thick. Pods available are:

  • 132mm rocket launcher (two rockets per pod)
  • flamethrower
  • grenade launcher
  • DT 7.62mm machinegun

Na-50 Kossak

A typical medium Soviet walkers. 4 meters tall, mass 10 tons. Armor 13mm thick. Weapons can include 132mm rocket launchers, flamethrowers, 120mm mortars, 45mm anti-tank gun, 76mm cannon, or 12.7mm machineguns. Again, one weapon pod on the left arm, one on the right arm; a commander's hatch MG may also be fitted. A command/radio variant with two crew (and light weapon pods as seen on the Na-12) has been seen. Pods include:

  • 132mm rocket launcher (four or eight rockets per pod, depending on date of issue, luck, etc.)
  • flamethrower
  • 120mm mortar (with 8 round magazine)
  • 45mm M1937 anti-tank gun (with 15 round magazine) -- not seen till after 1939
  • 76mm F-22 cannon (with 12 round magazine)
  • four DK 12.7mm machine guns (after 1939, DShK 12.7mm machineguns)
