Joseph Begay Equipment

back to the Index, or to Recon Team R36, or to Joseph Begay

Encumbrance levels:

  • up to 24 kilograms:  unaffected - move 24 meters per round

  • 25 to 48 kilograms:  loaded - Dodge, Climb, Jump, Swim, and some other movement-related skills are halved; move is 18 meters per round.

  • 48 to 96 kilograms:  burdened - Dodge, Climb, Jump, Sneak, Throw, all melee attacks, all parries, and some others are halved; some skills may not be possible:  Swim without flotation aids, for example; move is 12 meters per round.

  • over 96 kilograms:  overloaded - Martial Arts, Sneak, Throw, all attacks and parries, and others are halved; Swim, Climb, Jump, Dodge, and others are not possible. Move is 3 meters per round.

Carrying his issued field gear and role kit is a load of 32.4 kilograms. That gas mask is a real lump o' weight ... if only your friends weren't so likely to heave tear gas about! If he leaves off the Armbrust 300 rocket, the HE grenades, and two of the frag grenades, this load is only 23.5 kg ... at the unaffected level.

The load with issued field gear, role kit, and survival gear is 43.64 kilograms.
